Sustainable Development Week at American University SIS

Sustainable Development Week flyer imageIDPP will take part in Sustainable Development Week (#AUSDW16) events from 25-30 January 2015 hosted by the American University School of International Service International Development Program Student Association (IDPSA). On 27 January from 6-7pm US ET at the Library Graduate Research Lounge B60, Dr. Derrick Cogburn will speak at the Sustainability Panel on Measuring the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the panel, Dr. Cogburn will be joined by SIS faculty colleagues and development practitioners in discussing the aims, approaches and implications of the SDGs and how they aim to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and combat climate change.

Other activites during #AUSDW16 include a screening of the documentary Food Chains, a forum on “Sustainable Development in 2016: Where do we go from here?” and a keynote event featuring renowned ethnobotanist Dr. Mark Plotkin, co-founder and president of the Amazon Conservation Team.
