IDPP Attends Meetings at National Technical Institute for the Deaf
A team from the Institute on Disability and Public Policy (IDPP) attended a series of meetings at the National Technologic Institute for the Deaf (NTID) located at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY on 1 December 2011.
Topics discussed between IDPP and NTID included an overview of NTID support services; pedagogy, instructional design and online learning; remote tutoring; RIT support services for deaf students in online courses; and class act resources for online and blended instruction.
In addition to meeting with Dr. James DeCaro of NTID, Mr. Shichi Ohno and Mr. Yoshida Minoru of The Nippon Foundation, which generously supports the IDPP, were also in attendance.
IDPP and NTID continue to collaborate to further the knowledge and expertise in technology and techniques for educating students who are deaf in a virtual learning environment.
