IDPP/COTELCO Executive Director Participates in CSUN 2014
IDPP/COTELCO Executive Director Dr. Derrick Cogburn will participate in the 29th Annual International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference held from 17-22 March 2014 in San Diego, California. Dr. Cogburn has attended and presented at CSUN conferences in the past. Last year, Dr. Cogburn and IDPP/COTELCO Faculty Associate and IDPP Evaluation Committee Co-Chair Dr. Jennifer Ellis presented their jointly written paper, Accessible Cyberlearning in Practice, which offered best practices for creating accessible online courses and instructional design, as well as criteria for implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) courses. Illustrating the concept of geographically distributed collaboration, Dr. Cogburn presented virtually from Myanmar while he took part in a historic higher education mission organized by the Institute of International Education (IIE)-International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP).
Hosted by the Center on Disabilities at California State University-Northridge, the CSUN annual conference is the largest gathering of industry professionals, academics, technology vendors, policy makers, and others interested in accessible technologies. In addition, companies often use the conference as a launching point for their latest products and services in accessible, assistive and adaptive technologies.
