IDPP Director Receives Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award

Dr. Cogburn receives Greenberg Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award photoDr. Derrick L. Cogburn, IDPP/COTELCO Executive Director and Associate Professor at American University and Syracuse University,  received the 2011 Milton and Sonia Greenberg Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award. Milton Greenberg formally presented Dr. Cogburn with the award at the 2012 Ann Ferren Teaching, Research, and Learning Conference on Friday, 13 January 2012.

The prestigious award is bestowed annually and given to a full-time American University faculty member, dean, or chair. The scholarship, which recognizes and promotes research-based instruction, consists of a $2,000 research grant in addition to $1,000 in dissemination expenses.

Two faculty associates for COTELCO also received awards. Dr. Nanette Levinson, Senior Faculty Associate, and Dr. Maria De Jesus, Faculty Associate, received the Ideas Incubator Award and the American University Teaching Enhancement Award, respectively. Both Levinson and De Jesus are professors at American University's School of International Service (SIS), in the departmenet of International Communication.

The conference took place at the Mary Graydon Center and Library at American University.
