CRLT, Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (logo)IDPP/COTELCO Executive Director Dr. Derrick Cogburn and faculty members Dr. Jennifer Ellis and Dr. Marilyn Arnone are presenting at the Fourth Annual Seminar on Preparing Future Faculty on 4 and 5 June 2013 hosted by the University of Michigan’s Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies and the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT). This nationally-recognized seminar invites senior graduate students with collegiate or university-level teaching experience to attend sessions designed to prepare them for post-degree faculty teaching positions.

Drs. Cogburn, Ellis, and Arnone are each leading hour-long virtual discussions with seminar participants on teaching in online and blended environments. The sessions are hosted in real-time using Google+ Hangouts.

The five-week seminar, which began on 5 May, has featured sessions on preparing for job searches in academia, general information about employment at higher education institutions, and educational sessions on emerging instructional practices and technologies. Participants who successfully complete the seminar will have fulfilled two requirements toward a U-M Rackham-CRLT Graduate Teacher Certificate.

Dr. Cogburn previously served on the faculty of the School of Information at the University of Michigan, as well as on the Board of CRLT. Dr. Ellis received her Master’s Degree in Information from the University of Michigan.
