IDPP Research Presented at 2012 ISA Convention
Research facilitated by and surrounding the Institute on Disability and Public Policy was presented at the 2012 Annual International Studies Association (ISA) Convention in San Diego, CA.
A mini-case paper on the IDPP was presented at the catalytic pre-conference workshop Think Globally, Teach Locally? Active Teaching and Learning in Cross-National Perspective on Saturday, 31 March 2012 from 9am-5pm PST.
Dr. Derrick L. Cogburn, IDPP/COTELCO executive director, and the IDPP associate director discussed Using Cyberlearning to Accelerate the Development of Disability Policy in Southeast Asia on Monday, 2 April 2012 from 1:45-3:30pm PST as participants of the roundtable Real-Time Innovations in Collaborative Teaching and Learning: A Demonstration Space for Enhanced Pedagogy. The presentation focused on the process of designing, developing, and deploying the world’s first virtual Master’s degree program on disability policy: the Master’s of International Affairs in Comparative and International Disability Policy.
In addition, Dr. Cogburn and Ms. Erica Seng, IDPP program coordinator and COTELCO senior research associate, presented the research paper Building the Dam: Understanding Distributed Networks for International Affairs Research in the Age of Information on Monday, 2 April 2012 from 4:00-5:45pm PST. The paper reviews the Institute on Disability and Public Policy project; COTELCO's distributed research networks in international affairs; and COTELCO’s Transnational Challenges and Emerging Nations Dialogue (TRANSCEND) project.
