Welcome to the IDPP

We prepare transformative disability policy leaders and serve as a collaborative "think tank" on disability policy for the ASEAN region through an unparalleled network of 20 leading universities and 4 outreach partners, with founding and sustained support from The Nippon Foundation. We contribute to the vision of an ASEAN region that is inclusive, barrier-free and rights-based, and pioneered the world's first virtual master's degree program in disability policy, offered by American University's School of International Service.

Dr. Cogburn Participates in 45th Annual HICSS Conference

Dr. Cogburn participates in 45th annual HICSS conferenceDr. Derrick L. Cogburn, IDPP/COTELCO Executive Director and Associate Professor at American University and Syracuse University,  participated in one of the world’s longest running scientific conferences - the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS) - from 4-7 January 2012 in Maui, Hawai'i. Dr. Cogburn co-chaired a minitrack session on global virtual teams, as well as participated in several workshops including the learning and analytics workshop, and the advances in technology and learning minitrack sessions.

IDPP Participates in Asia Pacific CBR Congress

Joni Yulianto presents at the Asia Pacific CBR Congress in ManilaMuhammad Joni Yulianto, Program Coordinator for Outreach and Capacity Building for the IDPP, attended and presented at the second Asia Pacific Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) congress in Manila, Philippines on 1 December 2011. The CBR congress was held 29 November - 1 December 2011 with the theme “CBR: Building Communities for Everyone” and the sub-theme “Mainstreaming Disability in the Development Agenda.”

IDPP Gives Live Virtual Report from M-Enabling Summit

Virtual Briefing from M-Enabling Summit Dr. Derrick L. Cogburn, Executive Director of the IDPP/COTELCO, gave a live virtual report from the Global Initiative for Inclusive ICTs (G3ict) M-Enabling Summit, Conference and Showcase at 10:30 a.m. on 6 December 2011. In addition to Dr. Cogburn, a member of the High Level Panel of Advisors for GAID, speakers at the virtual briefing hosted by the IDPP/COTELCO included Mr. Fred Doulton, UN Secretariat for the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; Mr. Axel Leblois, Executive Director of G3ict; and Ms. Deepti Samant, Director of International Programs at the Burton Blatt Institute at Syracuse University. The live webcast provided viewers with an opportunity to be briefed on the conference from wherever they were in the world.
