On May 17, Mr. Shuichi Ohno, the Executive Director of the Nippon Foundation (TNF), and Dr. James DeCaro, from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology, came to Washington, DC work on issues related to the Institute on Disability and Public Policy (IDPP) for the ASEAN Region. Both TNF and NTID played integral roles in the formation and development of IDPP; and supporting the IDPP’s inaugural Master’s program in Comparative and International Disability Policy (CIDP).

During the visit, Mr. Ohno and Mr. DeCaro met with colleagues to discuss IDPP’s future governance structure, project management methodology, and the July 18-29 residency program in Bangkok, Thailand. Later the same day, the student and fellowship application for the Master’s program became available, punctuating an already significant day.
